Next Generation SC.gov Website

I recently worked on a proposal for the design of the Next Generation SC.GOV local and state government website experience. Integration with Gov2Go and AccessGov.

I'm very fortunate that I get to work on a lot of different projects within the company. It keeps my days interesting and there's always something new. Every once in a while I get the opportunity for a big project and this redesign has been a fun one. The brief was to create a next generation sc.gov website encompassing the companies new applications and technology.

Part of the process was creating a guided sign up, a service purchase example and a custom header for existing state agency websites.

Using the existing sc.gov site as inspiration I organized the various components into sections of the page. First the most Popular existing services. Then a call to action if you will with the benefits of creating an account with sc.gov. Next, I added a Discover section listing all the existing services with a little tile giving a brief title.

I added our Guided Search plugin that lets users do their own filtering for existing state services.

The last two pieces were the existing My Government services showcasing the Governor and Lieutenant Governor for the state. I finished everything up with a footer.

Our persona, Jane had reminders for various events and services she was enrolled in. She had access to her documents and the discover section would learn what services and features she browsed the most.

Part of the presentation was showing how a user would sign up for a new account. I created a 6 step design that captures the usual personal information and the user runs through an email and password setup flow.

This was a fun project to work on and I look forward to the next one.
